NW Portland Massage Therapists

Hannah Peterson – Hannah graduated from East West College in 2011, and is beginning her 7th year as a massage therapist. She loves providing a deeply relaxing massage that puts people back into a grounded space in their bodies. She is passionate about filling her clients up with a loving and joyful experience that they can take with them out into the world.

Jolene Wilson – Jolene graduated from Oregon School of Massage in 2014. She really enjoys utilizing the wide range of massage modalities offered at The Dragontree. Her favorites are Deep Tissue, Swedish, Deep Fascial Release, Pregnancy, and Ayurvedic, and she often uses a fusion of multiple styles. Her approach is similar for all of her clients, and involves unwinding and relaxing target muscles and tissues that are causing pain, soreness, and imbalance in the body. She also addresses over-active nervous system effects by calming and soothing the system as a whole.

Ariel Jones – Ariel is a 2012 graduate of East West College and has been practicing massage for the last four years. Her preferred modalities are Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue massage.  Ariel’s massage style focuses on bringing deep peace and relaxation to the mind and body. She is careful and gentle, but also able to provide deep pressure when needed. Clients struggling with stress, depression or anxiety, as well as clients with sensitivities are a great fit for Ariel.

Doc Dravier – Doc graduated from the East West College of Healing Arts in 2013. He likes to incorporate elements of Thai massage and myofascial release into his massages to produce a balanced fusion of eastern and western philosophies to the bodywork.  Doc is passionate about movement in all its forms, styles and modalities, and feels that massage offers a viable path for achieving physical health, freedom, flexibility, ability and well-being in pursuit of living a happier, healthier life.

Rob Harrold – Rob graduated in 2014 from The New School of Massage and Bodywork in Chicago. His style can best be described as a fusion of Deep Tissue, Thai, and Sports Massage. He begins by using several techniques such as Neuromuscular and Trigger Point Therapy with the intention of releasing any apparent muscle tension. He then follows up with Sports Massage and Thai stretching techniques to help restore the affected area back into alignment. His philosophy is that every joint in the body should be in a “balanced” state, and his job is to correct imbalances caused by muscle tension.

Heather Zietz – Heather has been a practicing LMT for 14 years after graduating from Spa Tech in Portland Maine. She specializes in Deep Tissue (particularly for people who are afraid of Deep Tissue massages) and Swedish Massage. She is skilled at shoulder/rotator cuff therapy, hands/forearms, and scalp treatments. Heather likes helping turn people’s day around and helping them not hurt. Deep Tissue is a passion of hers because it is about making space and facilitating motion.

Arjuna Bressak – Arjuna graduated from the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, FL in 2006, and has been practicing massage for the last 11 years. He is also a Reiki master with 20 years of healing experience. His massage styles include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Neuromuscular and others. He specializes in releasing upper back, shoulder, and neck tension using light to deep pressure. He integrates all of these modalities depending on the client’s needs and provides the most heavenly relaxing massage experience. The massage he offers is intuitive, present, therapeutic, and powerful. He uses slow, flowing massage techniques. Arjuna believes that a massage should be deeply relaxing, and has even had clients fall asleep during their treatments. He identifies as a gentle soul, and his life philosophy is to work from a place of love, caring, and compassion for all.

Andrew Baxter – Andrew graduated from the Onondaga School of  Therapeutic Massage in Rochester, NY in 2011 and has been an active LMT in both NY and OR ever since. He uses a combination of many modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point massage in his treatments and believes a slow and focused attention to problem areas is the best way to treat adhesions. Andrew believes bodies are meant to be in perfect balance and uses communication and massage to help retrain the body to let go of physical limitations and imbalances that have formed over time. He has been with The Dragontree since 2015.

Taylor Mohr – Taylor graduated from East West College in March of 2017. She has been a practicing LMT for the last eight months.  Her work is always deep.  Whether she’s elbow deep in your glute max or barely touching your sphenoid, systems will be changed. Taylor is passionate about calming the nervous system and introducing a new way of being in the world. As someone who has suffered from severe repression, it is her goal to bring clients to a space where they can finally let go.

McKenzie Michaels – McKenzie graduated from the Tennessee School of Therapeutic Massage, in 2013, and has been a practicing LMT ever since. She is proficient in Classical/Swedish, structural based Deep Tissue therapy, Prenatal, Trigger Point, and Sports Therapy massage techniques. She provides a calm and nurturing environment where her clients can achieve better mind/body awareness, relaxation, and tension release. Her philosophy is best summarized in this quote from St. Francis of Assisi: “He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.”

Melody Pinson – Melody graduated from the Ashland Institute of Massage in 2005 and has spent the years since gaining valuable experience in spas, chiropractic offices, with a professional basketball team, and has had private practices in Michigan, Louisiana, and Oregon. She incorporates Deep Tissue and Thai massage techniques into her work and tailors each session to the client’s individual needs. As an avid runner, swimmer, and cyclist, Melody has a deep understanding of massage for athletes. She believes clear communication about expectations and style preferences is crucial to a successful session. Melody loves massage and knows it is an integral part of any wellness regimen.

Arika Song – Arika is a 2016 graduate of the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in Phoenix, AZ, and has been offering Swedish and Deep Tissue massages ever since. She’s also a Reiki master and is happy to be able to assist people in their healing. She strives to create a safe space for all beings to heal.

Stephen Fassero – Stephen graduated from the East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland in 2017 and has been with The Dragontree since early 2018. He likes to use a combination of different modalities in his work, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports massage techniques, and Tui Na.

Eric vanLeeuwen – Eric has been practicing since 2010. Most of his training was at the San Francisco School of Massage. He also studied Thai massage in Thailand and Laos and Craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Institute. Eric believes that our bodies are sacred temples, gifted to us to support the adventures of being alive. Learning to care for them and learning to listen to all they communicate to us are key to living happy, healthy, and successful lives. Massage is one of the best supports in both caring for and learning to listen to the messages of the body.

Lorin Purifoy – Lorin has been practicing for 10 years as a massage therapist. She believes in the power of Swedish massage and works with presence and intuition. Lorin believes we have the ability to heal and she loves the variety of modalities that can be woven together to meet a clients needs.

Brooke March – Brooke has been working since 2005 and had an independent practice in Richmond, VA for 12 years.  She specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Deep Relaxation techniques.  She loves to create more ease in the chest, neck and head.  Brooke loves helping clients relax into their bodies and settle into a compassionate awareness of their minds and hearts.  She creates a safe space for people to release stress and worry so that they may reconnect with their own personal sense of peace.

Jacquelynne Stratton –  Jacquelynne graduated from the East West College of The Healing Arts in 2005.   Jacquelynne has extensive experience in pre and postnatal massage care for mothers.  She has studied advanced Thai massage in Thailand, and was an Ayurvedic Massage Therapist for Dr. John Douillard at Lifespa in Boulder, CO.   Through her experience she has woven together multiple modalities to meet her clients needs. Deeply intuitive flowing body work, is the target to concentrate on areas of need or concern.  The fuel that continues her passion is focusing on bringing her clients back into a more fluid and balanced state within themselves.

Jan’ee Stai – Jan’ee has been an esthetician since 1995. She attended Cosmetology Careers Unlimited in Portland Oregon. She has multiple certifications in advanced skin care, facials, and body waxing. She has taught several Brazilian waxing courses throughout her career. When it comes to performing facials, she consistently provides the quality of service she would like to receive. She enjoys offering spa guests the ultimate pampering and relaxation with special attention to individual skin care needs. Whether it’s perfecting the client’s best brow or most efficient Brazilian wax, Jan’ee always pays attention to details.

Jennifer Smith – Jennifer graduated from the Euro Institute of Skin Care in 2010, and has been a licensed practicing esthetician for seven years. One of her specialties is aging and dry skin.  She employs result-oriented exfoliation, hydration, and recommendations using products from our remarkable skin care lines to rejuvenate skin.  She also helps cure acneic skin with deep pore cleansing, extractions, treatment and home care strategies to return skin to balance. For Deep Relaxation, she uses facial massage as well as foot scalp, and hand massage. Jennifer is ingredient savvy, and has a natural and holistic skin care approach.

Emily Silverman – Emily went to school at Evergreen Beauty and Barber College, and graduated in 2009. She has been a practicing esthetician ever since. She prides herself on her touch, and believes it’s highlighted in the massage portion of her facials. She likes to give the right amount of pressure with fluid intentional movements. She also loves to help clients find the right products to heal their skin, and work with whatever goals they have. Her philosophy as an esthetician is: Create your reality – if you want your reality to be filled with health and happiness, a great way to start is with self care.

Amy Rivkind – Amy is a 2003 graduate from th Florida College of Natural Health and has been practicing esthetics for more than 14 years, inspired by her love of aromatherapy and making hand-crafted skin care products. She has experience with all skin conditions and specializes in working with acneic and sensitive skin. She enjoys giving her clients a relaxing and pampered treatment. Amy knows that how we look directly affects how we feel.

Kaitlin Wolfe- Having worked as a makeup artist for many years, Kaitlin learned the importance of having a healthy canvas to work on. She wanted people to understand how the skin works, to find the best skin they never knew was possible, and to wear it confidently. You only have one face, one body; take care of it. Life has its way of bringing great joy with sorrow. Kaitlin wants to make people feel beautiful from the inside out.

Mikayla Johnson- Palmer- Mikayla graduated from the NW College of Beauty in 2017.  In the two years she has been working as an Esthetician, she also has been proficient in Bridal makeup.  Having a rooted passion in holistic healing as well as Ayurvedic medicine, Mikayla finds a way to apply this to each and every service she provides to a client. What we put on our skin is just as important as what we put into our bodies. Feed your skin rather than enforce it, and inspire it instead of irritate it.
