Black tourmaline is a grounding stone used to repel and protect against negative energies. It’s considered to improve physical vitality, emotional stability, and promote a sharp mind. It is said to connect the base chakra to the center of the Earth. It is also thought to be helpful for dispelling “dark” and confused mental states. In tower form, this black tourmaline feels more "directive" and sharp (versus rounded forms) as if to pierce through illusion and murkiness. They stand up well on a flat surface. 

They come in two sizes (and we hand-picked them all):

A Size: 3.6 to 4.6 inches tall, 1.7 to 2 inches wide at the base, 247-285 grams (a little over half a pound)
B Size: 4 to 6 inches tall, 2 to 2.6 inches wide at the base, 407-436 grams (almost 1 pound)

We buy and sell these towers by weight, so while some are tall and skinny and others are shorter and wider, they all contain the same amount of black tourmaline. 

Please note: Crystals are natural products of the Earth. As such, they vary. Some may have internal cracks, small chips, hazy areas, varying colors, "phantom" shapes inside, rainbows (diffraction), and other variations. We have personally chosen and examined every one, and found them all to meet our high personal standards. Often, we find the qualities that would be considered "imperfections" from the standpoint of a jeweler to be exactly what makes a certain crystal especially unique and potent. We don't have the ability to allow you to choose a particular crystal, but offer these photos as representative sample of the batch we have, and we trust that you'll get the crystal that's right for you.
