Are You Feeling Overwhelmed Too?

on

Ever notice how sometimes the more you need to move… the harder it is to move?

You stare at the list. You tidy the counter. You scroll a little. You make a snack. You call it
thinking about it.

But really - you’re frozen somewhere between wanting to do everything and wanting to hide from all of it.

And you’re not alone.

When life feels like too much - too loud, too fast, too uncertain - our systems don’t always know how to keep up. The nervous system hits pause, hoping that stillness will help us feel safe again. It’s not failure, it’s protection. It’s the body saying, “Let’s slow down until it feels okay to move.”

The problem is, when we don’t understand what’s happening, we label it as weakness. We tell ourselves we’re lazy or behind. But nothing could be further from the truth. This isn’t a character flaw - it’s biology doing its best to find balance.

If you’re here right now - hovering between the desire for movement and the exhaustion that keeps you still - take a breath.

Try this:
Place a hand over your heart.
Breathe in for four counts, hold for two, and exhale for six.
Let yourself feel the depth of that breath - let the softness begin to return as you stop pushing.

Instead of fighting the pause - allow it.
Let it be a moment of restoration, not resistance.
Go for a walk. Sit in the sun. Take a long bath.
Or, better yet… maybe get a massage at The Dragontree (wink).

Because when you let yourself truly rest, something shifts. The static quiets. The next step starts to rise naturally - not from pressure, but from presence.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You just have to stay in relationship with yourself - even here, in the pause.

With love,
Briana
