It seems obvious to say, but the more moments of delight we infuse into our lives, the more delightful life feels.
And yes, planning counts.
The truth is, I want my planning to feel less like homework and more like ritual. Like lighting a candle and listening to what the universe is whispering. (Sometimes it’s profound, sometimes it’s just “Don’t forget to pack snacks for Sailor.” Both are sacred.)
Here are three ways to make your planning time feel like a treat instead of a chore:
1. Treat it like a date.
Because it is, a date with your future self. And honestly, you’re great company. Light a candle, pour a glass of wine, wrap yourself in a blanket, whatever makes it feel cozy and nourishing. Let it be playful, let it be sweet, let it be yours.
2. Let your big dreams slip into the everyday.
We tend to keep our epic visions in one corner (“someday I’ll write a novel”) and our errands in another (“buy more oat milk”). But real magic happens when they sit at the same table. Ask: What’s one small, doable step toward my dream that I can slip onto this week’s list? It could be as tiny as writing one paragraph. Tiny steps move mountains.
3. Start small, then build.
The universe rewards momentum. Instead of writing down a dozen impossible things (and then ghosting yourself), choose one or two sweet, doable promises. Keep them. That’s how you build self-trust, and self-trust is where magic multiplies.
This is exactly why we created the 2026 Dreambook + Planner—not just to track tasks, but to invite you into a rhythm where your daily life and your biggest dreams hold hands. Where planning feels sacred, joyful, a little sparkly.
And oh, side note: this year we added a new color, Evergreen Teal, and it’s already the crowd favorite. It’s moving quickly, so if you feel that little tug toward teal, this is a gentle reminder to claim it before it’s gone.
When you’re in your next planning ritual, whether by candlelight or in the quiet of a crisp fall morning, snap a picture and tag us @thedragontree. We’ll be there cheering you on like the slightly mystical, slightly nerdy planning coven that we are.
With so much love,
Briana
P.S. Remember, there’s no “perfect” way to plan, only the way that feels alive and true for you. Start small, show up with love, and let it grow from there.
