Ayurveda (“ah-yur-veh-dah”), an ancient healing science from India, is one of the world’s oldest medical systems. It aims to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit. Ayurveda focuses not only on the treatment and prevention of illness, but on the removal of blockages to experiencing a more vibrant, peaceful, and happy life.

These Ayurvedic therapies are heavenly as one-time treatments, though they are traditionally given multiple times in a course, and we believe their benefits are greatly enhanced when received in a series. In the transcendent state of bliss these treatments facilitate, deep transformation and healing can occur.

Shirodhara

Expand your awareness and quiet the mind in a profound way. A gentle stream of warm oil flows in continuous patterns on the forehead. This encourages your body and mind to surrender to deep relaxation. In Ayurveda, shirodhara treatment is considered to balance the mind, open the third eye, awaken intuition, nourish the brain, and promote free flow of prana (life force) through the nadis (energetic channels).

Note: Contraindicated for most pregnant women due to the requirement to lie flat on your back for the service.

Ayurvedic skin brushing

Illuminate your skin and invigorate circulation with a full body scrub performed with a plant fiber brush. Dry skin brushing makes your skin clearer and more resilient, and promotes detoxification and lymphatic drainage. It’s also energizing and refreshing to the spirit. After your body brushing is complete you will be anointed with one of our hand-crafted Ayurvedic oil blends in alignment with your constitution (prakruti). The body brush is yours to take home afterwards.

Abhyanga

Our warm-oil Abhyanga massage uses oils chosen specifically for your constitution and choreographed patterns designed to circulate energy and clear blockages. The overall effect is invigorating, relaxing, and detoxifying.
