Steam Room in Boulder
Enter the steam room at The Dragontree Sanctuary and disappear into a cloud of warmth. Soft light and steam create an enveloping retreat where the outside world fades and your whole body can exhale.
The steam room is part of the complete Sanctuary experience on Broadway in Boulder, alongside the cedar sauna, cedar hot tub, cold plunges, salt room, and forest showers.
Breathe deeply and let go
The warmth gathers gently around you, encouraging tense muscles to soften and a busy mind to become still. Settle in, close your eyes, and allow the steam to draw you fully into the moment.
Come for quiet time alone or share the ritual with friends. However you arrive, this is your invitation to slow down.
What to expect in the steam room
Visit the steam room at the beginning of your session, return between other Sanctuary experiences, or save it for one final moment of warmth. Stay as long as feels nourishing, then step out, cool down, and notice the shift.
Your 90-minute Sanctuary Session leaves plenty of space to wander, rest, and follow your own rhythm.
Awaken with contrast
After the steam room, rinse beneath the forest showers and ease into a cold plunge. The transition from enveloping heat to vibrant cold can feel exhilarating - awakening the senses and leaving you clear, grounded, and renewed.
Rest afterward, then return to the warmth whenever you are ready.

Steam Room questions
What's the difference between the steam room and the sauna?
The cedar sauna is dry heat. The steam room is moist heat, for softening muscles and cleansing the skin. Both are included in every Sanctuary Session, so you can try each and find your favorite.
How long should I stay in the steam room?
Stay as long as feels comfortable. Many guests start with a shorter round and build up over the session. If you feel woozy or unwell in any way, step out and rest.
Is the steam room included in a Sanctuary Session?
Yes. Every 90-minute Sanctuary Session includes the cold plunges, cedar hot tub, cedar sauna, steam room, salt room (halotherapy), and forest showers. Sessions are $67, or $47 Mon-Thurs, 9a-4p. You can also add a Sanctuary Session to your 60 minute (or longer) treatment for $20.
I'm new to heat and cold. Is that okay?
Care for your body: if you feel woozy or unwell in any way, stop your session. Start gently and go at your own pace, and if you're pregnant or have a health concern, check with your doctor before using the heat or cold.
What should I bring?
Swimwear is required in all communal spaces. If you don't have appropriate clothing, speak to a Sanctuary attendant. Please do not bring any valuables, such as jewelry, to the Sanctuary. We'll provide a towel and sandals.
