Pounding the pavement, jumping into rivers…we have a sunscreen that keeps you protected while you conquer the outdoors.

I am not a fan of running in the heat. I am definitely not a fan of running any distance in the heat with a stinky, sticky, chemical rich sunscreen, so when I decided to give the Active Sport Treat SPF 30+ by Epicuren a try my expectations were low. I definitely wasn’t optimistic when it started out bright white and thick when I first put it on. It did disappear quickly though, but I thought that once I started sweating it would revert back.  It didn’t and despite my skepticism when the sweat started pouring a few miles in I was pretty ecstatic (well as ecstatic as I could be as I pounded the pavement under the ever so elusive blazing Portland sun)… it wasn’t slipping all over the place, stinging my eyes, turning white, or any of the many annoying things that other SPF has done in the past under similar circumstances. It definitely held up under the pressure, didn’t distract me from my run, and when I was done I didn’t have any of the funky tan lines that I could have easily ended up with. It kept me protected. I also decided to give it a go on a recent camping trip and it withstood jumping in and out of rivers and the ocean and wasn’t so super sticky that I was covered in dirt and sand. It was relatively easy to cleanse off as well. So glad I decided to give it a shot. I think you should too.
Here are a few fast facts:
-water resistant broad-spectrum sunscreen
-zinc oxide, which is a physical UV filter that is considered to be one of the safest and most effective sunscreens available today
-UVA and UVB protection while in the water (or perspiring) for up to 80 minutes
-moisturizers and antioxidants, such as Vitamin E, Green Tea Extract, Hawaiian Kukui Nut Oil, and many other herbal extracts that are known to actually counteract the damaging effects of the sun
-apply thin layer 20 minutes prior to sun exposure. Do not rub in (it will appear white at first, but will dry transparent)
It’s available on-line or at the airport location, so be sure to pick some up at PDX on your way to your next sunny vacation!
