Message For The Masses

A friend recently sent me a cartoon she found online that she thought I’d like. The picture was of a doctor and his patient in an exam room, and it read:

Patient: “Doctor, I don’t feel well and I’m not sure why.”
Doctor: “I want you to meditate for twenty minutes, twice a day, exercise for at least thirty minutes a day, avoid processed foods, eat plenty of organic fruits and vegetables, spend more time in nature and less indoors, stop worrying about things you can’t control, and ditch your TV. Come back in three weeks.”

If I could send one message to the masses it would be to look inside yourself for answers to your questions. Everything the doctor in the cartoon lists for his patient are things we already know are beneficial for us, yet so few of us live this way. If we could all take time out of our busy schedules to reflect on our own personal health and lifestyle choices, and really be honest with ourselves, we could overcome any ailment or obstacle. If the only person standing in your way of true happiness and optimum health is you, what will your first step be towards changing your life for the better?
